Are you interested in a behind scenes look at NYIBC? Being a Special Friend of one of NYIBC's participating couples provides the perfect opportunity to interact closely with NYIBC's dancers. Make a difference in a young dancer's life as they experience the excitement of competing and performing in the dance capital of the world. Special Friends work together to provide assistance and moral support, and have the opportunity to participate in NYIBC's many special events during the festival.
Special Friends have the opportunity to meet the dancers upon their arrival in New York City on Saturday June 2, 2007 and see them off on their departure on Monday June 25, 2007. Special Friends are there to help the dancers settle in to their accommodations at Fordham University at 60th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues. As a Special Friend you are invited to participate in our welcome breakfast and orientation meeting on Sunday June 3, 2007. Be our guest at a welcome brunch with NYIBC's coaches, teachers, dancers, patrons and other Special Friends.
As a Special Friend you are also invited to attend rehearsals at the Ailey studios and at NYIBC's elegant new venue, the Rose Theater at Time Warner Center. Special Friends have the opportunity to receive two complimentary tickets per performance to share in the excitement as your dancers perform.
Special Friends are privileged to have a personal involvement with NYIBC's dancers. Our festival culminates with an Awards Ceremony and Gala Performance followed by a Black Tie Dinner Dance at the Tavern on the Green on Sunday June 24, 2007. We request that our Special Friends purchase two tickets for this exciting event. We hope you will be a part of making this the best New York International Ballet Competition ever.
